THE RANAKPUR SAFARI CLUB: OPENING FALL 2009. - The
Ranakpur Safari Club shares its boundary wall with The Kumbalgarh
wildlife sanctuary and can boast of having two of the more important
historical sights of the country at its backdoor - the famous Ranakpur
Jain Temples and The Kumbalgarh Fort (famous for having the second
largest wall after the great wall of China). Besides the temple
and the fort the sanctuary is a haven for leopards, bear, barking
deer, wild boar, blue bull, grey jungle fowl and a host of bird
life.
This is an exclusive property with just 4 suites, 2 with private
pools in a stunning location and very close to nature.
A 2 nights safari stay will take you to Ranakpur Temples on the
first day. The following morning head for the Kumbalgarh Fort through
the sanctuary - an interesting 2 hrs drive by Jeep – alternatively
one could also horse ride or trek it. A picnic lunch will be organized
after touring the fort and then return back to the lodge by 4.00pm.
For the horse enthusiast a longer stay is necessary to enjoy our
full horse safari. After visiting the temples and fort as outlined
above, on the 3rd day set off on horse back through the Arravali
mountain range to a private mobile camp pitched near village Goria
a beautiful 30 kms ride. That evening you will be entertained by
the Garacia tribal’s dance. On the 4th morning head for Castle
Bera another 30 kms ride. The area around the village of Bera is
famous for the sighting of leopards and you have a choice of either
staying at the castle where your host is Thakur Baljeet Singh or
in one of our mobile camps on the shores of Jawai Dam – one
of the biggest artificial lakes ofRajasthan. The Jawai is flocked
with a variety of migratory birds along with being the home for
some of the biggest crocodiles in the country. This evening you
head out in jeeps for a Leopard Safari.
5th morning options include heading for Jodhpur (4 Hrs), Udaipur
(4 Hrs) or Jaipur (7 Hrs).
