At
The Camel Camp Osian, we have hosted many succesful conferences
and Incentives for Johnson and Johnson, Tata, Bank Of America, Bayers
to name a few. And incentives from abroad for Coca Cola, Peugeot
and many more. The Camel Camp has 51 permanent tents with attached
toilets and have hosted large conferences of 200 tents for upto
5 nights.The camp can accomodate upto 500 tents. Its an excellent
venue for team building and outdoor meetings. A tentative itinerary
is given below.
DAY 1.
Afternoon arrival by flight/ train. At around 3.00 pm board the
private steam train at Mandore Railway Station and the journey for
Reggie's Camel Camp Osian, approximately 2 hrs including a stop
for water at Mathania Station. The train journeys through dunes,
red pepper farms, mustard fields and past quaint villages which
is quite an experience and takes you back in time to The Days of
the Raj!!. Alternatively coaches or 4 wheel drive jeeps to the camp
can be arranged.
5.00pm Arrive at Osian railway station (the location for the Louis
Vuitton luggage advertisement). Here you will be met on the platform
by turbaned camel riders with their camels who will take you to
camp, a half hour ride. Reach the camp just in time for sunset by
the swimming pool perched on the highest dunes of the Thar -Welcome
with drums, face towels, drinks etc. Alternately drive in coaches
a 1.30 hrs drive.
Allocation of tents & settling in.
An evening of traditional folk music and dance followed by a Rajasthani
BBQ dinner on the sand dunes and culminating with a firework display.
Optional Rajasthani attire can be provided for the evening.
DAY 2.
Optional early morning Yoga by the pool. After breakfast mount the
camels (camel carts can also be provided) and head further into
the desert-enroute visiting local tribals - including Bishnois,
weavers, potters etc and also see a variety of desert wildlife.
A "Champagne" lunch will be served by a desert oasis after
which return back to camp in Jeeps.
Upon return at camp, time will be given for leisure for a short
siesta or relaxing by the swimming pool.
4.00pm The camel races start at the O.C.R.C (Osian Camel Race Course)
- the only one of its kind in the country! The race is big local
attraction held every full moon night and proud tribes and clans
with their camels travel from miles around Osian and Jodhpur to
compete against each other. The afternoon begins with live music
from the marching band and refreshments in the form of high tea
are provided. The races take on the atmosphere of a local mela (fair)
and stalls are set up and food provided for all the participants
and their supporters. After the prize distribution for the winners
of the Camel Races, cocktails and dancing (DJ with his full equipment)
are arranged up at the main lodge followed by a sumptuous dinner.
DAY 3.
Breakfast provided at camp before guests depart for their onward
destination.
Alternatively a four wheel drive treasure hunt rally can also be
organized.
